They live in a cabin on the beach at Kayak Point on Puget Sound. They have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. A Northwest native, Gary grew up in North Seattle and moved to Snohomish County in 1965.
In his pre-family years, Gary traveled extensively including a rail and hitch-hiking tour of Europe with an emphasis on skiing in Zermatt, Switzerland. He served for 4 years in the Army Security Agency as a Serbo-Croatian translator and intelligence analyst stationed in Bad Aibling, Germany. In 1988, after 18 years in sales and management, Gary began his real estate career. Two years later he earned his brokers license and the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation. Garys leisure time activities include golf, sailing, windsurfing, fishing, skiing (snow and water), gardening and landscaping. A former marathoner, he once ran 4 marathons in 1 year. He's an avid runner regularly competing in 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon races. Things Gary likes: Wooden boats, Celtic & classical music, "A Prairie Home Companion,", reading, Trivial Pursuit, roses, birds, computers, working on his 50 year old beach cabin and helping people buy and sell real estate. "My favorite past time, however," says Gary, "is spending time with my kids and grandkids."
